A dramatically troubling trend in the world, wealthy and highly populated countries are buying up large tracts of African land to grow food or agrofuels for export… to themselves!

In the process, African nations facing food shortages are losing the very basis for their own food security and sovereignty.

As we see in this story from Britain’s The Independent, the social and environmental effects could be devastating.
