Canadians want a better food system. That’s according to a national opinion poll released by USC Canada and conducted by Nanos Research. Seven out of ten Canadians want farmers to have more influence on the food system. Malian farm movement leader, Mamadou Goïta, was one of the few dissenting voices at a high-level global conference looking at a new ‘Green Revolution’ for Africa. With great sadness, USC has received news of the death of a great friend and Honduran master-farmer, Luis Alonzo Meza Pacheco. Don Luis, as he was fondly called by his friends and colleagues, will be remembered for his enthusiasm and commitment to both farmers’ rights and agrobiodiversity-based agriculture.
