Another tragedy has hit Haiti – a magnitude 7.0 earthquake centered near Port-au-Prince – and the people of that country are in need of immediate assistance. The U.N. estimates that 2.2 million people are affected and fears that the loss of life may reach into the tens of thousands.
USC Canada is not in a position to provide emergency relief assistance, but other Canadian organizations are. For Canadians wishing to contribute, please consider donating to the following organizations:
For our American supporters, you may wish to support the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) and the Unitarian Universalist Association, who have launched a joint earthquake relief fund to help survivors.
However you contribute, your donations will help ensure the most marginalized people in Haiti recover from this devastating disaster.
