On May 24-25, 2014, help us run wild for food and farmers!
SPECIAL THANKS to the dozens of Algonquin College students, faculty and staff who joined us this year!
Are you a runner or walker?
We’re looking for dedicated supporters to walk or run for biodiversity in the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend marathon, half marathon, 10 km, 5 km or 2 km races.
- All R4B-Ottawa runners and walkers who commit to raising $100 will receive a specially-designed Run for Biodiversity t-shirt in appreciation for their fundraising efforts.
- As a special thank you, the top 10 R4B-Ottawa fundraisers will be registered for free!
Where will donations go?
All donations will go to support USC Canada’s work with seed-saving farmers in remote regions of Ethiopia.
Our R4B-Ottawa goal is to raise $12,500 to support the community-based agricultural, biodiversity and environmental initiatives of our local partner, the Ethio-Organic Seed Action (EOSA). EOSA works with farmers to help ensure they have a diverse and healthy seed supply in order to grow nutritious food for their families.
Why run or walk for biodiversity?
Biodiversity is all about food and farmers. It is Earth’s life-support system and nature’s brilliant insurance policy against disaster. If something fails, having a diversity of options means there is always a backup plan. When you run or walk, you help USC Canada support the farmers who plant the seeds of our very survival.
Thanks for making a difference!
Thanks to you, USC Canada is able to support Ethiopian farmers in growing more food for their families.
Please feel free let others know about this too. We’re hoping this year’s run will have “legs!”
