Salt Spring Seeds

Salt Spring Seeds is based in Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, and has been supplying seeds to farmers and gardeners, promoting organic growing, and encouraging people to save their own seed for 21 years. All their seeds are untreated, open-pollinated, and non-GMO. Their catalogue comprises seeds from ten gardens and farms. All seeds are organically grown.

Planting Instructions
Blue Tinge Ethipoian Wheat grows about 4 feet high, with an unusual blue cast to both seed heads and seeds. For first-time growers, sow grains an inch or so apart in rows. After a season of multiplying them, planting in blocks works well. Lightly cover the seed with soil and put out a scarecrow if birds are raiding. It is easy to thresh and delicious cooked as a whole grain. It matured in 90 days in 2007, weeks ahead of other wheat varieties.
